Quotes from client case studies for The Journey:

“It really brought it home to me that being held by such a kind consciousness enabled me to access things that I wouldn’t be able to access alone”
Debi: Cambridge

“The anguish (I felt) when meditating has gone after our first session.  I felt whole and clear after our sessions.  I am left with the feeling that The Journey is surprising and safe; in case it is needed there is a hand to help you up, so that you can let yourself ‘travel’ deeply.”
Anne: Holland

“After 37 years of smoking I couldn’t kick the habit.  I gave up but I still had the addiction, it never went.  I would still crave cigarettes and had the odd one now and then.  After a Journey (process) the severe craving just disappeared.  There was a big change in my attitudes toward the way I thought.  I feel an inner strength I never had before.”
Elspeth: St. Helens, Merseyside

The following quotes are from a few training workshops I ran for Social Services in Norfolk.

“It was particularly useful to look back on previous changes in my life and realise many were good changes.  It will perhaps make me think more positively about changes in the future.  Although it is essential to have training regarding students (service users) it was really nice to spend a day thinking/talking about ourselves.  Keep it just as it is, interesting and fun!”
Gary

“Enjoyable and thought-provoking day.  Nice to take the time for Me! Thank you.
Christian

“I have realised certain potential in myself which I had forgotten and reinforced my goals for the future.”
Mark

“The joy of positive advance, which makes a great deal of difference in this negative world.  Connection and understanding of people that you may not normally work with.  An Alive Day.  Thank you.”
Keith

“It was good to talk to others and share experiences and to know that we have similar fears and problems and that they are not unsolvable.”
Glen(da)

And you always get one or two different quotes…the question was, ‘What have you got out of this workshop?’ and the reply was:

“A painting job! But he did add a P.S…Well put together day, thoughtfully constructed. Cheers.
Thanks Simon!

As a singer (not professionally), song lyrics are really important to me and since I’ve got older I find it more difficult to remember them.  A lot of the ‘old’ songs I knew the tune for I never really knew the lyrics very well, so I’m going to add quotes from what I feel are powerful and empowering songs I’ve come across.  When we get the blog (Web-log) going, you can add your own quotes from books as well so that we can share all this lovely stuff.

Here’s the chorus from: ‘Search for the Hero inside Yourself’, sung by M People

You've got to search for the hero inside yourself.
Search for the secrets you hide.
Search for the hero inside yourself.
Until you find the key to your life.

And for teenagers of the past…what about Toyah Willcox’ ‘I want to be Free’; interesting words I never really knew at the time it was released.  Yo Toyah!

don’t want to be nobody’s fool – want to free…want to be me
Don’t want to be sweet and neat
Don’t want someone living my life for me
Want to be Free”

I’m not advocating, as the rest of the song says, to tear down the wallpaper, turf out the cat and tear up the carpet, or blowup the tv and car BUT just taking in the overall message is important, well anyway, that’s what I think.

During the Journey training there’s a lot of lovely music played and a singer who comes up a lot because of her fantastic (my opinion) lyrics, is Kirtana, here’s one of her verses:

“Could there be more to this life we call ‘mine’ than a journey through space or a story line? –
More to life than the body can sense than the mind can conclude from experience.
Does who we are begin with breath, depend on form or end with death? –
Strip away these roles, these names and tell me what remains
And who you really are, who you really are.”

Now I think that’s amazing.  If you want to hear her music left click on: www.kirtana.com or copy and paste into your browser (I think that’s what you call it!)

And then there’s the beautiful song my youngest daughter wrote when she was about 5.

“Do you like me-ee-ee?
Do you like a Christmas Tree?
Do you like a Teddy Bear
And Do you like Yourself?

Daddy said if I am good I’d have a Care Bear Cousin and I would like it very much coz I am very nice.

Do you like me-ee-ee?
Do you like a Christmas Tree?
Do you like a Teddy Bear
And Do you like Yourself?”

And we are very nice, only trouble is we tend to forget ourselves.

And one of my total favourites I love to sing, I first heard the folk singer Roy Bailey sing, here’s the chorus of ‘Everything Possible’ a lullaby for our children:

“You can be anybody you want to be
You can love whom-ever you will
You can travel any country that your heart leads
And know that I will love you still
You can live by yourself
You can gather friends around
You can choose one special one
But the only measure of your words and your deeds
Will be the Love you leave behind when you’re done.”

Some of the words may differ with different singers but that’s what I sing and I think it’s a lovely song.

Here endeth my quotey bits…Warm Wishes from Lynne
